MacOS Apps

This is a list of applications that I use on my Mac. These are not necessarily the best apps out there, but they are the ones that I have found to be useful and enjoyable to use. I hope you find this list helpful!

Development

  • Visual Studio Code: A powerful and versatile code editor that I use for all my programming needs. It has a wide range of extensions and features that make coding easier and more efficient.

  • IntelliJ IDEA: An integrated development environment (IDE) that I use for Java development. It has a lot of features that make coding and debugging easier, such as intelligent code completion, refactoring tools, and built-in version control.

  • iTerm2: A terminal emulator that I use for command-line tasks. It has a lot of features that make it more powerful than the default Terminal app, such as split panes, customizable keybindings, and support for various shells.

  • Homebrew: A package manager for macOS that I use to install and manage various command-line tools and applications. It makes it easy to keep my software up to date and manage dependencies.

  • Docker: A platform for developing, shipping, and running applications in containers. I use it for creating and managing development environments, as well as for deploying applications.

  • JumpDesktop: A remote desktop application that I use to access and manage remote servers and virtual machines. It supports various protocols and has a user-friendly interface.

  • UTM: A virtual machine application that I use for running different operating systems on my Mac. It allows me to test and develop software in various environments without needing separate hardware.

Design and Creativity

  • Shapr3D: A 3D modeling software that I use for creating and designing 3D models. It has a user-friendly interface and powerful features that make it easy to create complex designs.

  • BambuStudio: A 3D printing software that I use for preparing and managing my 3D prints. It has a lot of features that make it easy to slice and optimize 3D models for printing.

  • Davinci Resolve: A professional video editing software that I use for editing and color grading my videos. It has a wide range of features and tools that make it suitable for both beginners and professionals.

  • Downie 4: A video downloader that I use for downloading videos from various websites. It supports a wide range of video formats and has a simple interface.

  • Pixelmator Pro: A powerful image editing software that I use for editing and enhancing my photos. It has a wide range of features and tools that make it suitable for both beginners and professionals.

  • EasyEDA Pro: A web-based electronic design automation (EDA) tool that I use for designing and simulating electronic circuits. It has a user-friendly interface and powerful features that make it easy to create and test circuit designs.

Productivity

  • Obsidian: A knowledge management and note-taking app that I use for organizing my thoughts and ideas. It allows me to create a personal knowledge base with interconnected notes, making it easier to find and reference information.

  • Platypus: A tool for creating native Mac applications from scripts. I use it to create custom apps for various tasks, such as automating workflows or creating simple utilities.

  • Handbrake: A video transcoder that allows me to convert videos into different formats. It’s great for compressing videos or converting them for use on different devices.

  • iOpenPod : A tool for managing and syncing music between my Mac and iPod. It allows me to easily transfer music files and manage my music library.

  • PDFgear: A PDF editor that I use for editing and annotating PDF documents. It has a wide range of features that make it easy to work with PDFs, such as merging, splitting, and adding annotations.

  • Supernote Partner: A companion app for my Supernote digital notebook. It allows me to sync my notes and documents between my Supernote device and my Mac, making it easier to access and manage my notes across devices.

  • Syncthing: A file synchronization tool that I use for syncing files between my devices. It allows me to keep my files up to date across multiple devices without relying on cloud services.

  • The Unarchiver: A file archiver that I use for extracting and compressing files. It supports a wide range of archive formats and has a simple interface.

Utilities

  • AppCleaner: A utility that I use to uninstall applications and their associated files. It helps me keep my system clean and free up disk space.

  • Blackmagic Disk Speed Test: A utility that I use to test the read and write speeds of my storage devices. It helps me ensure that my drives are performing optimally.

  • raspberryPi Imager: A tool for flashing operating system images onto SD cards for Raspberry Pi devices. I use it for setting up and managing my Raspberry Pi projects.

Music Production

  • UVI Workstation: A powerful sampler and virtual instrument host that I use for music production. It allows me to load and play a wide variety of virtual instruments and sample libraries.

  • AccusticSample Saxophone Collection: A collection of high-quality saxophone samples that I use in my music production. They provide a wide range of saxophone sounds and articulations, making them a great resource for adding realistic saxophone parts to my compositions.

  • Logic Pro: A digital audio workstation (DAW) that I use for music production. It has a wide range of features and tools for recording, editing, and mixing music, making it my go-to software for creating and producing music on my Mac.

  • iLok License Manager: A software application that I use to manage my software licenses for various music production plugins and virtual instruments. It allows me to easily activate and deactivate licenses, as well as keep track of my licensed software.

  • Muse Score: A music notation software that I use for composing and arranging music. It allows me to create sheet music and scores for my compositions, making it easier to share and perform my music with others.

  • Waves Central: A software application that I use to manage my Waves audio plugins. It allows me to easily install, update, and manage my Waves plugins for music production.

  • Ultimate Vocal Remover: A tool that I use for removing vocals from audio tracks. It allows me to create karaoke versions of songs or isolate instrumental parts for remixing and production purposes.
